Legal Students: Network with Law Firms to Locate the Best Internship

By Tracey Drake For most law students, networking with law firms is the best way to find a great internship. In large cities and small towns, the legal community is close knit and many times, it is who you know, not what you know. The more people you meet with, the better your chances of building your professional network, and finding a great intern position. Networking is best started with ones own friends and acquaintances. You can gradually branch out to network with your friends friends, colleagues, and members of the legal profession, as well as others in the business community that can further your efforts. Do not be shy about contracting people of the legal profession who are not known to you. Concentrate on lawyers who are active in your field of interest. Make a list of potential law firms and seek appointments to set up interviews. You can make it clear that you are not looking for a job or internship, but seeking their advice and suggestions on your common field of interest. In the process of meeting them, if they do have an opening for an intern, they may consider you. However, your primary concern at this time is to increase your networking. Think of it as personal marketing that will serve you well your entire career. Preparing for Internship Prior to networking with fellow professionals and law firms, ensure that you have your resume ready. An internship resume must be informative, proactive and engaging. Have it written by a professional to ensure you stand out from the crowd amongst all other intern applicants. Emphasize your area of interest and why you want to intern for a certain law firm. Your resume should emphasize your experience (including volunteer work, community service and clerking positions while in school) that are relevant to your field of interest, your commitment to the law and must express your passion for your chosen career field. Your resume should be well written to create a good impression, and should be accompanied by an excellent cover letter. Depending on the law firm you are applying to for your internship, you may be required to submit a number of documents with your job application, such as: -A covering letter stating the reasons for applying
-A detailed resume
-A sample of written legal work (take care that it does not breach client confidentiality)
-Two written references
-Copies of university and other degrees, and/or diplomas
-A list of specialized courses taken If you have applied to a foreign law firm for your internship program, you will require submitting copies of your passport, as well. Make sure that your internship application is submitted as per the law firms requirements. GradResumes.com specializes in writing graduate resumes and college admission documents. Getting a Fast Separation In Maine

By Jean Mahserjian Clients sometimes ask whether a Maine "Fast Separation" is possible. Yes it is - whenever both parties will amicably work on the process. A Maine "Fast Separation" will not be possible if either party works to hold the process up. Like other states, Maine sets forth mandatory rules that have to be abided by before you will be awarded a Separation. There is no avoiding this. Individuals have asked, in what way might one of the parties delay a Maine "Fast Separation"? By choosing to dispute issues that need to be agreed upon or consented to, including divorce grounds, or by choosing to litigate issues such as (a) how each asset is to be divided, (b) how to decide custody as well as the custody schedule, and also (c) how much spousal support and child support will be paid under the statutes. Each of the issues that have to be dealt with prior to finalizing a Maine separation could become the source of argument. And thus, if someone proposes to preclude and stop a "Fast Separation", that is possible. Nonetheless, all of the necessary family law matters can also be determined amicably. If each of the parties want to enter into a Maine "Fast Separation", they should be in agreement regarding all of the outstanding matters. And so the first topic that you need to decide is if each spouse is willing to amicably agree upon the issues necessary in order to get a Maine "Fast Separation". Once you both have agreed that you will work out a Maine "Fast Separation", you are going to need to determine how you can get all of the papers finished and file. One easy way to complete that is to retain one lawyer to represent both parties and to fill out the papers. Some people do not want to hire just one attorney and prefer to have independent advise from their own attorney. However, it is very common to retain two lawyers and ask one of them to finish all of the Maine separation papers, and ask the other attorney review and approve the documents. Another way for you to get a Maine "Fast Separation" would be to find one of the many available online divorce and separation services to prepare the necessary documents. You can locate an online divorce and separation service that is available that will fill out all of the papers necessary for you to obtain your Maine "Fast Separation". With any such separation service, you and your spouse will be sure that the you are receiving separation documents that are applicable to the state of Maine. If it so happens that the two of you decide to use an online divorce and separation service for your Maine "Fast Separation", you basically have three types of services to choose from. One type of online divorce and separation service will simply mail or email all of the required legal paperwork for a Maine separation to you. This legal paperwork will be accompanied by very detailed instructions on how to complete them with the proper information on how to file the papers with the proper authorities, but you or your spouse will need to do this on your own. Another type of service is an online divorce and separation "complete form preparation" service provider. This type of service provider asks that you and your spouse fill out a questionnaire regarding your situation. Then, that online divorce and separation service would fill out the required legal paperwork for you and forward them to you with instructions on how you must submit them to the courts. A third type of online divorce and separation service is a "full" service provider which is usually provided by attorneys. This category of online divorce and separation service requires that you and your spouse prepare questionnaires to allow for the preparation of the necessary forms, then this service continues by getting the signatures from both parties on the completed paperwork, and then actually file those forms for you. This form of separation service almost always is a bit more pricy than the other type because you must remit all of the necessary filing fees to this service so they can file your separation papers. When using the other types of online divorce and separation services that the parties can hire for your separation, you or your spouse will have to remit the filing fees required by the state of Maine on your own. Getting Beat By A Girl

By Scot McKay There's a lot of talk about "approach anxiety", and for good reason. It has been optimistically estimated that over 80% of all men are terrified of approaching attractive women they have ever met. And let's face it: without overcoming this fear it's all but impossible for a man to experience any success whatsoever in meeting great women, let alone attracting and keeping them. Most of the information I've read on the subject centers around teaching men to sack up and "get over it", using any manner of Jedi mind tricks designed to help us "deal with rejection", "visualize success", use "indirect openers", etc. But I've read relatively little on the subject that dives beyond the surface of the issue. Most of us are or were at some point in our lives afraid to approach women. Instead of being given a pep talk, I'd rather know WHY we as men are almost universally affected by this, and HOW we fell into this trap. From that position of understanding, it makes sense that we can better figure how to dig ourselves out. And it is absolutely a trap. It's an irrational fear for a man to be "afraid" of women. After all, most of us as men are not catatonic basket cases sucking our thumbs in a fetal position when it comes to other aspects of our lives. We play football in high school. We go downhill mountain biking, surf hurricanes, get concealed weapon licenses, street race muscle cars, ask customers for high-dollar sales orders, train pit bulls, get full-sleeve tattoos, do third-gear wheelies on GSXR-1000s and remove offending garden snakes from backyard sheds. Some of us even DAYDREAM about things like making high-pressure 20-foot putts for birdie on the 18th green at Augusta National. Yet, we cannot bring ourselves to go talk to an interesting woman at a bar, an airport or even in our own dormitory at college. To further underscore how bizarre this phenomenon gets, I remember running with a crowd primarily composed of United States Marines back when I lived in Yuma, Arizona. We'd park our sportbikes somewhere to grab a bite, see an attractive woman and NOT ONE OF US would talk to her. We're talking about guys who had VOLUNTEERED to risk their lives for this country, and furthermore had just finished a pavement blistering canyon run five minutes before. What is going on here? Here it is: it's not the WOMEN themselves we are afraid of. It's our own egos that hamstring us. Allow me to elaborate. We as men are competitive beings. When we're out with our buddies it's one contest after another. That's all well and good, and we like it that way. But deep in the soul of every man is a mortal repulsion against getting "beat by a girl". Whether women like it, understand it, think it's silly and/or can deal with it is actually irrelevant. It's a fact. The archetypal shame associated with it is wired into our XY genetic code. Remember back in sixth grade when the girls were maturing and the boys were, wellstill looking like little boys? Remember in gym class how some of the girls could run faster and throw harder? It was a drag, wasn't it? When we as guys got older that problem took care of itself for the most partexcept in two notable areas: the business world and, of course, the dating world. In the business world women are going to get promotions and ascend to positions of power with or without any input from YOU in particular. If a woman "beats" you in that arena, you can either accept it and stick around or find another job. But dating is another story. The "competition" is mano-a-mano when it comes to approaching a woman. And THAT, my brethren, is where we as men let our egos betray us. We tend to see approaching women as a COMPETITION. If you or I approach a woman with this mindset, we believe someone is going to WIN and someone is going to LOSE. If she REJECTS us, we lose-and we've been "beaten by a girl"! And even if we DO get a smile and a phone number, if she doesn't answer the phone when we call her we STILL are getting "beat by a girl". Given this situation, it's a no-brainer to see why most men don't even bother to talk to women AT ALL. The risks to ones psychological well being are just too great. Getting "beat by a girl" is more painful than crashing and burning anywhere else. So what's the solution? The discussions I've heard about reframing the approach so as to involve a QUALIFICATION PROCESS are the closest to hitting the mark. Our problem as guys typically is that we've PRE-QUALIFIED women before we've even met them based on their looks and/or how they appear to handle themselves from afar. Having already decided we like a woman before even meeting her, the insidious "contest" is on. Every time. Instead of approaching women with our approval already sewn up, we need to start putting women to the test in the same manner they famously test us. Men are typically the CHASERS and women the CHOOSERS in this society as a result of how men tend to view this stuff. Men who deserve what they want and who refuse to "settle" need to start raising the bar, refusing to offer up immediate approval to women we meet until they have proven to be as attractive AFTER we meet them as they were BEFORE we met them. Women instinctively evaluate us when we approach them, as we know all too well. It's time for us to start doing the same-which we have every right to do as fellow human beings. And look what happens in that case. The "competition" factor has magically been lifted from the scenario. If we haven't yet reached our own conclusions when we approach a woman, she really can't "reject" usor "beat" us, as it were. She can only pass or fail our own evaluation process. And as any man who conducts himself with dignity and refuses to "settle" knows, women who are rude and/or quick to dismiss us thereby fail the qualification process. The principle at play is much the same as when a pushy or otherwise socially inept man fails a woman's testas well it should be. It's as simple as that. Simple, maybe, but not easy. It may take some time to unlearn the poisonous habit of seeing the approach as a competition. But the fact remains that we as men have the power to view things in the more sober context of mutual evaluation rather than "winning" or "losing". In doing so we overcome THE major contributor to "approach anxiety". And I assure you the effort is well worth it. Strangely enough, the women will even appreciate you MORE as a result. After all, women love real men. Scot McKay's dating strategies for those who refuse to settle for anything less than the ULTIMATE relationship are found at: http://www.relationship-advice.us/. History Of Olive Trees

By Patrick Malcolm Olive trees, Olea europaea, are the oldest fruit trees and certainly are one of the most important fruit trees in history. Olive tree culture has been closely connected to the rise and fall of Mediterranean empires and other advanced civilizations throughout the ages. Because olive trees offered wealth and future food supplies to established civilizations, the agricultural nations became stable societies, resulting from a secure expectation from past experience of an uninterrupted food and olive oil supply. This factor was a necessary requirement for population growth and increase. Dependable fruit production and olive oil production means that olive trees must exist in a stable society and a peaceful environment. That stability must extend for many years, since most ancient seedling olive trees required eight or more years before ever producing the first crop of fruit. Productive orchards of olive trees meant that a foundation of the great empires of Greece and Rome had arisen and developed into complex economic and political forces. It is interesting to note that the historical decline of these empires corresponded to the destruction of their olive tree orchards that reduced the available supplies of olives, olive oil, olive wood, and olive soap. In connection with the destruction of olive orchards, it is interesting to note that in the Israeli wars with Palestine, 50,000 olive trees were destroyed by Israeli bulldozers. That act of agricultural destruction resulted in considerable anger and unrest along the Gaza strip and the West Bank, because the economic livelihood of many Palestinian farmers depended on their products from the uprooted olive trees. Additionally, the olive tree was historically a peace and goodwill symbol, and when the olive trees were leveled near the city of Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus and the Cradle of Biblical History, that elimination of olive trees seemed like a deliberate provocation to end the peace with the Palestinian settlers and farmers. Medical properties of olive oil were reported by many ancient Greek writers and philosophers, their importance in creating nutritional benefits and wealth for Greek citizens continues abundantly today--some Greek olive tree orchards containing a million or more trees. Aristotle wrote extensively about the accepted methods of successfully growing olive trees. Greek mythology records that Athena, the Goddess of wisdom and peace, struck her magic spear into the Earth, and it turned into an olive tree, thus, the location where the olive tree appeared and grew was named Athens, Greece, in honor of the Goddess, Athena. Local legend tells us that the original olive tree still stands growing after many centuries at the ancient sacred site. Citizens still claim that all Greek olive trees originated from rooted cuttings that were grown from that original olive tree. Homer claimed in his writings that the ancient olive tree growing in Athens was already 10,000 years old. Homer stated that Greek courts sentenced people to death if they destroyed an olive tree. In 775 BC Olympia, Greece, at the site of the ancient Olympic stadium, athletes competed and trained, and winners were triumphantly acclaimed and crowned with a wreath made of olive twigs. Ancient gold coins that were minted in Athens depicted the face of the Goddess, Athena, wearing an olive leaf wreath on her helmet holding a clay vessel of olive oil. The Greeks began olive cultivation in 700 BC. The sacred lamp that was used in ancient Greek culture for lighting dark rooms at night was fueled by olive oil. Aged olive oil was also used in sacred anointing rituals of the church at weddings and at baptisms. Herodotus wrote in 500 BC, that the growing and exporting of olives and olive oil were so sacred that only virgins and eunuchs were allowed to cultivate orchards of olive trees. The first documented plantings of olive trees may have occurred during the Minoan civilization on the island of Crete and are believed to have been growing around 3500 BC. That civilization predates the discovered Mycenae olive fossils from 1600 BC and later in the Greek empire. Sturt Manning, an archeologist from Cornell University, reported in Live Science Magazine (Apr 28, 2005) that the most devastating volcano in 10,000 years occurred on the Greek Island of Thera, after which the city of Akrotiri was totally buried by the falling ash. The finding of olive wood and olive seed fossils buried near the site has shown through carbon dating that the volcanic eruption occurred between 1660 and 1600 BC and may have contributed to the total destruction of the advanced Minoan civilization (Atlantis) on the isle of Crete and may have led to the formation of the Sahara desert in North Africa after vaporizing the native forests there. The fragrant flowers of olive trees are small and creamy white, hidden within the thick leaves. Some cultivars will self pollinate, but others will not. The blossoms usually begin appearing in April and can continue for many months. A wild, seedling olive tree normally begins to flower and produce fruit at the age of 8 years. The fruit of the olive tree is a purplish-black when completely ripe, but a few cultivars are green when ripe and some olives turn a color of copper-brown. The size of the olive fruit is variable, even on the same tree, and the shape ranges from round to oval with pointed ends. Some olives can be eaten fresh after sun-drying and the taste is sweet, but most olive cultivars are bitter and must be treated by various chemical solutions before developing into edible olives. If the olives are thinned on the limbs of the trees to 2 or 3 per twig, the ultimate size of the olives will be much larger. The fruit is gathered in mid October and should be processed as soon as possible to prevent fermentation and a decline in quality. The leaves of olive trees are gray-green and are replaced at 2-3 year intervals during the spring after new growth appears. Pruning yearly and severely is very important to insure continued production. The trees have the unproductive limbs removed, so that it will be more fruitful John 15:2. An olive tree can grow to 50 feet with a limb spread of 30 feet, but most growers will keep the tree pruned to 20 feet to assure maximum production. New sprouts and trees will emerge from the olive tree stump roots, even if the trees are cut down. Some olive trees are believed to be over a thousand years old, and most will live to the ripe old age of 500 years. Olives generally are beaten off trees with poles, harvested mechanically or by shaking the fruit from the trees onto canvas. Most ripening olives are removed from the trees after the majority of the fruit begins to change in color. It is important to squeeze out the olive oil within a day after harvesting or else fermentation or decline in flavor and quality will occur. The olive oil can be consumed or used in cooking immediately after its collection from the press. Olive oils are unique and distinct, each brand of olive oil having its own character, as determined by many factors, like those unique flavor differences found in fine wines. Prepared commercial olive oils can vary greatly in aroma, fruit flavor; whether the taste is, flowery, nutty, delicate, or mild, and the coloring of olive oil is quite variable. Olive oil produces many health benefits when used in cooking or when poured over salads. The use of olive oil can improve digestion and can benefit heart metabolism through its low content of cholesterol. Experts claim that olive oil consumption will cause a person to grow shiny hair, prevent dandruff, prevent wrinkles, prevent dry skin and acne, strengthen nails, stop muscle aching, lower blood pressure and cancel out the effects of alcohol. Olive trees can survive droughts and strong winds, and they grow well on well drained soils up to a pH of 8.5 and the trees can tolerate salt water conditions. In Europe, olive trees are normally fertilized every other year with an organic fertilizer. Alternate bearing can be avoided by heavy pruning and generally the trees respond to this very quickly and favorably. Olive trees should be purchased that have been vegetatively propagated or grafted, because the seed grown trees will revert to a wild type that yields small olives with an insipid taste. Olive trees are more resistant to diseases and insects than any other fruit tree and, therefore, are sprayed less than any other crop. Even though commercial production of olives in the United States is only 2% of the world market, great interest in growing olives throughout the South has been stimulated by the recent introduction of promising cold hardy olive trees from European hybridizers. Many European immigrants to the United States grow their own olive trees in large pots, that can be moved in and out of the house during seasonal changes. What to Wear for a Beach Wedding?

By Anne Lim Your good friend is getting married and has invited you to attend her wedding ceremony. She has chosen the trendy beach wedding held at one of the most pristine beaches in the country. Scouting through your wardrobe, you realize that you have no idea on what to wear for the event. For a summer beach wedding, the wedding theme itself entails a casual feel. You want to look casual and smart, yet not too causal that you feel that you are not respecting the bride and groom. Thus if you are thinking to go in a jacket suit, it is a no no. So what is the appropriate attire for the event? You want to look chic and good. If it is a day event, one good choice is to have a summer dress that flatters the body shape. You could add on accessories such as a hat and a clutch purse or bag. The color of the hat should match the palest color of your dress and not the darkest. You could also wear simple accessories such as a bangle or a necklace. If you intend to be trendy, you could try to mix pieces of similar colors and patterns. Your hat then could be a fun loving piece but not too over bearing. Wear sexy shoes like silhouettes but make sure that they are comfortable and dont sink easily in the sand. Try not to wear any piece that is made of the denim material or anything that will crease badly during the ceremony such as linen. Denim sort of symbolizes the lack of respect for the event. If you dont wish to portray that message, do drop these off the list. If the beach wedding is an evening affair, choose a dress that is sexy yet appropriate for the event. Try not to come in a tweed jacket or anything that is too formal. Wear something which you feel comfortable and you are able to hit the dance floor after the event to join in the fun! Try to coordinate the colors so that it is soothing and not loud. Brown shades are great for the event. Dont come in an evening gown as you might look weird. Try a knee length or a three quarters skirt. Style your hair and wear matching accessories. If you take note of the above, you should be well prepared to have fun in that beach wedding! Your Guardian Angel And Your Akashic Record

By Gaynor Peck You may have heard of the Akashic Records in connection witb the famous clairvoyant, Edgar Cayce. He was said to have drawn on the Akashic Records when making remarkably accurate predictions for the future. He also used them to cure disease, by entering into a trance and describing the condition of the sick person, as if he could see right into their body. Angels are involved in the Akashic Records on two levels. Our personal guardian angel records our thoughts and deeds, keeping our personal Akashic Record updated. And the angels that oversee the Akashic Records are called the Lords of Karma. We've all heard of karma. Essentially, it means: "As ye sow, so shall ye reap". Many people believe there exists a store of all the information accumulated by mankind, since their creation. This is because energy cannot be destroyed -- but simply transformed into a different form. Many scientists, includling Carl Jung believed it is possible to connect with this vast storehouse of thoughts and knowledge and this forms the source of all inspiration. Many creative people, such as Mozart and Shakespeare, are said to have been able to tap directly into this source. That would explain why Shakespeare, a writer from a rural backwater, seemed to know so much detail about kings and the way of their courts. The writer, Coleridge was hard at work writing his amazing work "Kublah Khan", when a knock at his cottage door somehow broke the connection and the rest of his creation was lost. And Thomas Alva Edison, inventor of the light bulb and the gramophone, also spoke of ideas coming out of thin air. It is also believed every thought and deed that every human has ever had is recorded on what they call the Book Of Life or the Akashic Records. Think of this as a giant database of human life - far larger than the database in the biggest supercomputer in the world. The word "Akasha" is Sanskrit for "boundless space", but the concept of such a record existing embraces many cultures and religions. Mention of them appears in both testaments of the Bible, as well as in the folklore of the Arabs, the Assyrians, The Babylonians, the Hebrews and the Phoenicians. How To Improve & Define Your Relationships

By Jon Arnold Everyone has relationships with anyone they interact with, even briefly. It might be the clerk at the grocery store or the gas station attendant, or it might be your significant other. Have you ever given any significant thought to the type of relationships that you have with these people, or how to improve that relationship if it is not up to the level that you desire? First of all, you need to determine how you appear to those people. Try to put yourself in their position and look at yourself in the environment where they would typically see you and interact with you. What type of person would they describe you to be? Would they think you are sour on life and always negative? Would they think you are full of life and energy and always upbeat? The image that you portray to them will speak volumes about the type of relationship you have with them. More importantly, how is your relationship with the people in your life who are most important to you? If you have a spouse or significant other, the same rules and logic apply how do you appear to them? Do they see you as typically grumpy, tired, and sour on life in general, or do they see you as the full of life, positive, and energetic person that attracted them to you in the first place? Has that relationship changed over the years? If so (and it almost certainly has over time), what steps are you taking to regain that positive outlook and mentality that got your love relationship off to a good start in the first place? If your answer to that question is nothing, you unfortunately are not alone according to current studies, but at the same time, be aware that the particular relationship that we are talking about is not going to get better. In fact, chances are excellent that the relationship will, in all likelihood, continue to deteriorate. On the other hand, you may be in relationships where you do not want to be. Are you in an abusive relationship? Again, studies indicate that an abusive relationship is much more common than most people think, where some estimates indicate that an abusive relationship exists in an astounding 1 in 8 marital or spousal relationships. Note that the word abusive does not necessarily mean physical abuse. If physical abuse is part of your relationship, you are encouraged to report it to your local police since that is not tolerated. But it is up to YOU to report it. But the vast majority of abusive relationships do not include physical abuse. Rather, it is the emotional and mental abuse, which can be every bit as bad. Maybe that person takes every opportunity to cut you down or belittle you, whether in your home or out in public. Maybe that person has developed some habits that they have taken up for the primary reason that they know for a fact that it bothers you. Or maybe things have gotten to the point where the two of you cannot even calmly discuss something like the weather without the discussion digressing into a shouting match about some totally unrelated topic. In a marital relationship, both parties share the responsibility equally for the welfare and continued health of that relationship. It cannot be done by only one partner, regardless of how badly that one partner may want a healthy relationship it is a two way street. The pitfall that many couples fall into is that the responsibility for the health of the relationship is left primarily to one partner, and although that may work in the very short term, such an arrangement is doomed to inevitable failure. Be aware that ANY relationship you have is a two way street. You and the other person share the responsibility of the health of that relationship, as well as any compromises that either of both of you need to make for the longevity of your relationship. At the end of the day, it all comes down to how important that relationship is to BOTH of you, not either one of you individually. Mobiles Wooing Kids In UK

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Adam_Jaylin]Adam Jaylin In the festive season a lot of teenagers and pre-teen kids are expecting their parents to gift them their favourite gizmo. For few of them it can be the latest gaming console but for most of them it is the latest mobile phone. A study by Halifax, a respected UK Bank, about the spending and saving habits of children in UK has confirmed the obvious; mobiles have replaced cars, toys & dolls as the favoured toy of kids across all age groups. The study states, in the age group of 7-11 57% children own a mobile. As they grow their affection for this device spiral up dramatically and in the 12-16 age group mobile phone ownership goes up to 94%! I wasnt surprised at all when I also read that all this is funded by their parents whose threshold for indulging their children is increasing with each passing day. In 2006, 40% parents took care of the mobile phone bills of their wards. This number was down by 7% last year, one more reason for kids to stay glued to their mobile phones. But the most interesting aspect of the survey was that most kids have a PrePay or pay as you go (PAYG) sim in their mobile phones. The survey declared that 79% children had gone for pay as you go tariff plans and very few parents allow their kids to avail a contract mobile phone. As one moves up in the age group the number of kids with a contract phone, instead of a [http://www.ukonlinemarket.co.uk/payasyougo.asp]PAYG phone, goes up, for the simple reason that kids of that age are deemed more responsible. With a pay as you go mobile phone in their kids pocket the parent of the child can breathe easy both ways. Lanyards: Be Open-Ended and Creative

By Phyllis Chapman Lanyards do not have to be used "as is". You can feel free to customize and adjust them anyway you see fit. You can use longer lanyards or smaller ones depending on how you like to "operate" in the field. For instance, you can use a small loop if you like to carry items using your pinky instead of your wrist for instance. Some people may find different configurations more secure and useful than others. It's important to just feel your way through it to find the right setting for you with regards to your lanyard. It also depends on the item you are using the lanyard for whether it be a PDA or a camping knife. You can adjust the lanyard freely to prevent "bouncing" about too much or dangle from your person. Feel free to tie any sort of knots you'd like as well and again this is a relatively open-ended issue. As long as it works for you and your needs, feel free to be creative with this process. Hopefully this article has opened your eyes and eased your doubts on how to work with lanyards. You can use lanyards around your neck, your wrist, your fingers, your waist, or your legs, etc. It depends on personal preferences, the item in question, and the particular activity you are engaging in. Hospitality promotional products related packages and services are available at our site. http://www.lanyardcountry.com Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Phyllis_Chapman http://EzineArticles.com/?Lanyards:-Be-Open-Ended-and-Creative&id=252253 diazepam online

Social Security Denied: Should I Appeal?

By Jerry Lutkenhaus Social Security Disability is not available for everyone who has an impairment. If you are under age 50 and are still capable of some kind of employment in the national economy then you probably cannot get Social Security Disability. What you can do is contact your state Department of Rehabilitation and seek help in obtaining retraining or job placement. This service should be free for anyone who has an impairment. Of course, if you are still working and making $840.00 or over then you are presumed not to be disabled. If you are over 50, then proving disability gets somewhat easier. However, your age really does not help you until you are 55 or over. If you are 55 or over, have a severe impairment that prevents past relevant work (PRW), then you are a better candidate for disability. If you have less than a high school education, are over 55, and have only a history of unskilled work, then you are even a better candidate for disability provided you have a severe impairment. As the above discussion shows, when applying for Disability, it is better to be older than 55, uneducated, and have no skills. If you lack any of these, then the case for Disability becomes harder. Alternatively, it is also helpful if the skills you acquired from your work are job specific and are not readily transferable to other occupations. Of course, there are those cases in which the impairment is so severe that all employment is precluded even though the claimant is young or highly skilled or highly educated. But most cases involve claimants who because of their impairment cannot do their past relevant work (PRW). Then the Big Question becomes can they do other light work or perhaps sedentary (sit down work) in the national economy despite their impairment. Where an individual case fits in the process can be determined by an experienced Social Security Attorney. He or she can evaluate the case and advise whether or not it is worth going forward. Student Loan ConsolidationPros and Cons

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Carrie_Reeder]Carrie Reeder When interest rates on student loans rise, many college students begin to consider student loan consolidation. There are both benefits and disadvantages to student loan consolidation. This article explains the pros and cons of consolidating student loans. Pros Consolidating your student loans locks you in at the current interest rate. This means that, if interest rates rise, you will continue to be responsible only for your original fixed interest rate. Unconsolidated student loans have variable interest rates that fluctuate from year to year. Consolidation loans generally have longer repayment periods. Unconsolidated student loans have a maximum repayment period of 10 years. Consolidation loans may have repayment periods up to 30 years. This means that monthly payments may be lower on consolidated loans. Cons On unconsolidated student loans, the government pays the interest on your loans for six months after you graduate. This means that you wouldnt be responsible for a payment during this time. However, consolidating your student loans forfeits this grace period. You will be responsible for payments on your loans immediately after graduation. If you consolidate, you are locked in at the current rate for the lifetime of the loan. If you dont consolidate, your interest rate will fluctuate depending on economical conditions. It is possible that interest rates will drop lower than the current rate in the future. Visit [http://www.abcloanguide.com]www.abcloanguide.com for various student loan consolidation services. If you consolidate under a longer repayment period and make only the minimum monthly payments, you will pay more interest than you would on in a shorter repayment plan. This could cost you thousands of dollars over the lifetime of the loan. Creating A Budget

By Joseph Kenny Many people do not consider the importance of a budget. They indulge in spending according to their earning and do not leave room for emergencies. This usually ends up in the incurring of debts and sometimes, personal bankruptcy. A budget helps to counter these consequences. The essential calculations in a budget are income and expenditure. The purpose of a budget is to ensure that the expenses do not exceed the income and also provide for savings for the future. A budget needs to be documented in the form of a chart or table. This needs to be easily comprehensible and provide a quick summing up of the relevant details. The chart needs to effectively reflect the different heads of expenditure. Suggested heads are housing and utilities, entertainment, health and beauty, transportation, communication and household. These can be further subdivided as follows: Housing and utilities - Mortgage payment or rent
- Insurance
- Taxes and electricity
- Natural gas
- Water and garbage pick up Entertainment - Cable television or satellite service
- Internet access
- Dining out
- Bars clubs
- Sporting events, parties, lessons and recitals Health and Beauty - Hair-cuts, perms etc.
- Make-up
- Medical, dental, vision, weight loss, diet products
- Nutritional supplements Transportation - Car payments, insurance
- Gas
- Routine maintenance, repairs
- Air travel
- Rental cars, public transportation Communication - Telephone
- Cellular phone
- Voice mail Household Groceries
- Cleaning supplies
- Laundry, dry cleaning
- Home improvement
- Projects, towels, linens Others - Credit card payments
- Other loan payments
- Child care, items for baby/elderly
- Allowances for children, book clubs, magazines, music, etc., fast food
- Investments, vacation, spending money, donations to church or charity
- Gifts (Christmas, birthdays, anniversary, etc.)
- Emergency fund
- Cigarettes. If you have any other expenses that are not covered, you could add them to the list. Next, try to reflect all expenses on a monthly calculation. For example, if you pay yearly taxes, calculate the monthly expense by dividing the yearly amount by twelve. Having done this, add up all the figures to arrive at the total monthly expense figure. Then subtract this amount from your take home salary amount. If you find the remainder in negative, you need to look for expenses where you ought to cut down. For example, if your take home salary is $1000 and your expenses total to $1150, you would need to trim down $150 each month, from the expenses. If you need to cut down on your expenses, you would be the best judge to decide where to make the changes. However, it would be prudent to cut back on the extra subscription channels of the television. If you are smoker, cut down on smoking instead. Take home cooked lunch to office instead of eating fast food. Economize on power consumption by avoiding unnecessary use of the air conditioner and heating and make less use of the phone. Creating a budget is absolutely necessary to manage your finances and is not dependent on the size of your income. It helps to prevent overspending and personal bankruptcy, allowing you keep track of your income and expenditure. When Do You Need Back Surgery?

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=David_Betz] David Betz Most of us are familiar with back pain of some kind. You bend over to pick something up or twist the wrong way, and the pain hits you like a baseball bat. Even though it hurts a lot, however, you usually get better in a few days by resting, using a heating pad or ice packs and taking anti-inflammatory medications. Sometimes your back pain doesnt go away, though. It may have been getting worse for a long time, and youre tired of suffering with it. Youve probably tried a lot of things besides home treatment, like prescription medications, steroid injections and physical therapy, and youre still not getting relief. Physicians are reluctant to suggest back surgery unless its really necessary and nothing else helps. Any kind of surgery has risks associated with it; some risks associated with back surgery are:
General surgical risks, such as reaction to anesthesia, bleeding, infection, lung problems and blood clots.
Problems with the surgery itself, like poor healing of bone grafts.
Problems due to spinal nerve damage, like weakness and paralysis, urinary or fecal incontinence and sexual dysfunction.
Poor surgical results. Back surgery doesnt always relieve the pain, and some people even get failed back surgery syndrome with persistent pain.
Problems due to scar tissue formation. As time goes by, scar tissue shrinks, and it can cause pressure on the spinal nerves and your back pain can come back. There are some newer minimally invasive procedures using endoscopes. The surgeon inserts a small endoscope through a tiny incision. Using a microscopic camera, she can directly visualize the damage and repair it through the endoscope. Instead of cutting the muscles, she pushes them aside, which means there is less scarring after surgery. This is an exciting development because endoscopic surgery can be as effective as open back surgery, there are fewer complications, youre in the hospital for a shorter time, and you recover faster. With all of that said, however, there are times when you really do need back surgery. Your doctor may recommend it if:
Youve had back pain for six months or longer that is not getting better with other treatments.
You have weakness in your arms or legs, trouble grasping things or numbness/tingling in your legs and feet.
You have lost bladder or bowel control
You have spinal instability.
You have spinal deformity. When you cant manage the pain or when youre having functional problems because the spinal cord and/or spinal nerves are being impairedthats when you need back surgery. Busy Schedule? Consider an Online College For Nursing

By Amanda Jones When deciding on a masters degree in nursing, consider an online college for nursing. It may be the answer for those who have reservations about returning to school. The biggest concern for most people is the time they will have to devote to attending classes, finding time for group projects, homework, and taking tests. School can be stressful when trying to balance it with other areas of ones life. Raising families, working full-time, and taking care of others can leave a person with little time for an education. But an online masters degree in nursing may help a person be able to complete all tasks during the day. People consider an online college for nursing because they have jobs, families, and other obligations. All classes are conducted online. Students buy books that are on a syllabus that is provided at the beginning of the class. In most online programs, up to four classes can be taken per semester. This is an advantage for those who can only take one or two. It may take longer to receive a degree, but a person can take the classes that they feel they can handle. For some, this is reason enough to consider an online nursing degree. All course descriptions are offered before each semester. These descriptions also list projects and other assignments that might be due at the end of the semester. People can choose which classes they would like to take. This is similar to traditional college study. A nurse can gauge how much time they will need to complete the class and how much time they can devote to the class. There are also summer classes available. Assignments are given and even though there are scheduled days when they are due; there is usually more time to complete them. For those who can work with minimal supervision, an online program is the right choice. Consider an online college for nursing when trying to fit in an advanced degree into an already full day. To learn more about the benefits of an online college for nursing, Amanda Jones recommends Nursing Degree Guide. Us Mint

By Kristy Annely The US Mint has come a long way since it was created by the Congress on April 2, 1972. Over the years, it receives annual revenues of $1 billion. Most of these revenues are turned over to the General Fund of the Treasury. The main goal of the US Mint is to produce a sufficient volume of circulating coinage for the United States to be used for trade and commerce. It also has other responsibilities such as distribution of coins to banks and branches, production of proof and circulated coins, commemorative coins and medals, maintenance of physical custody and protection of US gold and silver assets, and mutilated coin processing, receiving and redeeming. In addition, the US Mint is also tasked to supervise the production facilities in different states that include Philadelphia, Denver, San Francisco, West Point and the US Bullion Depository located at Fort Knox, Kentucky. All these facilities have different activities and responsibilities that the US Mint has to oversee in order to make sure that everything is in proper place. The US Mint is a self-funded agency, and does not use the taxpayers money in order to operate. Revenue comes mostly from seigniorage, which is the difference between the coin-making cost and its face value. Aside from this, sales on coins, medals and other related items is a source of their revenue. US Mint offers outstanding career opportunities to those job seekers who want to be a part of this innovative and self-funding organization. A career in US Mint is more exciting than any other career in the US, since it is a wonderful opportunity to serve their country in safeguarding the Americas currency. Indeed, the US Mint has already come along way since its creation. It has now developed into a more reliable agency to produce US currency, distribute it and maintain its circulation. Not only that, it has become a dependable store for numismatic products and a reliable source of employment. US Mint provides detailed information on US Mint, US Mint Coins, US Mint Web Sites, US Mint Sets and more. US Mint is affiliated with US Passport Renewal. Wedding Bands: Commitment Till The Eternity!

By Javier Fuller The wise saying goes, The ring is roundand my love for you will never end! A good feeling accompanies the present that you give to anyone. The bridegroom's present to the bride has lots of significance attached to it. They are not only presents, they are commitments! Taken in this context, wedding bands and engagements rings are very special! They are more than symbolic items of jewelry. These are repository of life long commitment to love and trust. Your sweet emotions and untold goodwill is involved in these presents. In fact, they are the secret barometers of love, commitment, fidelity and eternity. The History of Wedding Bands goes back to the 15th century. The royal and the affluent people needed some thing to exhibit their wealth during the wedding ceremony. Golden rings encased with precious stones became order of the day, during such important ceremonies like engagement and wedding. Gradually, it turned out to be a social custom. Why the gift of ring only? Why not a pendant? Deep, touchy emotions are involved in this exchange of gifts. The word eternal gets the respect of the throne in these moments of human bond! It is eternal love, eternal happiness, eternal unfailing commitment and eternal togetherness. Rings take the honor because rings signify eternity. It is twice-blessed. It blesses the giver, it blesses the recipient! The ring is a circle, it has no break. It is without the end or the beginning. It is eternal. Eternal things are immutable and indestructible. And do you know the direct route to the heartthe Grand-trunk roadthe royal highway to the kingdom of love?
It is the fourth finger of your left hand. It is believed that it has a vein that leads directly to the heart. Therefore, both engagement and wedding rings are worn on this particular finger. The finger is thus the shortcut to her heart. You can not think of a wedding without the wedding ring in any part on this planet thus! Thank you, whosoever you are, for having discovered this direct route to the heart through the fourth finger! And thank you for discovering only one route! http://www.weddingleague.com/ & Wedding Bands provides detailed information on blood pressure, causes of wedding, wedding gifts, wedding ideas and more.
